One week on from owning my new Mazda Atenza and still smiling as I drive it daily. The most important feature for me was the leg and head room it offers as I am six foot five and can fit very comfortably in the drivers seat. Secondly being a wagon was important as I play a lot of golf and found I can easily fit two sets of golf clubs and the two trolleys in the back making life easy. Finally I am very happy with the economy of this 2.5 litre car as it not only has the power when needed but offers excellent fuel economy. If you get the opportunity to test drive one you will not be sorry.

This car ticks the boxes for me in terms of safety, child seat mounts, sufficient airbags, large boot space, nice and spacious interior (the seats don’t have a plastic feel), clean, cup holders in the back. Mazda was a top 3 choice for me and in my experience they have always been reliable and easier to maintain in terms of cost and part availability.

They are great cars to drive, sit nicely on the road, have a flash feel to them inside and out. They are wider with more space and are pretty good with fuel compared to many other wagons too.

The sedan version is perfect if you are wanting a faster car while the hatchback is great if you want a lot of storage space without the car being a lot bigger

The 2013 Mazda Atenza is an excellent vehicle. For a large station wagon it doesn’t feel like a big car to drive and very economic on fuel. One downside is that it is listed as one of the most stolen cars in NZ which makes the insurance very expensive.

The car is suitable for a driver wanting a bit more space but not such a large vehicle. Not much on the fast side, but the on road experience is consistently smooth and comfortable.

For a wagon it’s very roomy . We have two dogs and I needed to be able to fit their crates in the back. Love the levers you can pull from the boot to put the seats down. Very comfortable.
